Grown at around 1,900 meters above sea level, the farm benefits from a cool cloud forest climate, rich volcanic soil, and slow cherry maturation, creating ideal conditions for producing expressive and elegant coffees.
Karin De La Rosa is deeply committed to sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation. At Mt. Totumas, coffee cultivation is closely integrated with the surrounding cloud forest ecosystem, where biodiversity and soil health are carefully protected. Her approach emphasizes quality-driven farming, selective harvesting, and meticulous washed processing to preserve clarity and showcase the unique character of each lot.
Under Karin’s management, Mt. Totumas has become known for producing coffees with exceptional transparency and balance, highlighting the distinctive qualities of traditional varieties such as Typica. The coffees often express refined acidity, layered fruit notes, and a delicate tea-like structure that reflect both the high-altitude terroir and the producer’s careful attention to detail.
