Perched high on the slopes of the Barú Volcano, Kotowa is a multi-generation family estate with over a century of coffee history.
The name Kotowa comes from the indigenous Ngäbe language, meaning “mountain” a quiet nod to the rugged terrain, volcanic soil, and cool misty climate that define these coffees.
Known for its meticulously separated parcels and precise processing, Kotowa has consistently placed in Best of Panama and other international competitions, earning a reputation for clarity, elegance, and expressive terroir.

Fun fact
Las Brujas means “The Witches” — named after the swirling fog that rolls through the forest in the early mornings.
Last May, we had the chance to visit this breathtaking estate and cup these coffees side by side. Tasting how each parcel and process translated into the cup reminded us why Panama continues to set the benchmark for origin expression.
