The farm is managed by producer Peter Mbature and his family, and has developed a strong reputation for producing high-quality Kenyan coffees with a focus on innovation and sustainability.

During our visit this year, we had the opportunity to meet the team at Kamavindi Coffee Lab, explore their processing facilities, and better understand their approach to coffee production. This direct visit also marked the beginning of our relationship with them, and we are now proudly sourcing coffee directly from their estate.

Kamavindi is known for combining traditional Kenyan varieties such as SL28 and SL34 with experimental processing methods, including natural and anaerobic fermentations. Their approach highlights both precision and creativity, resulting in coffees that are clean yet expressive.

The cup profiles from Kamavindi are often vibrant and complex, featuring notes of red berries, stone fruits, red wine, and panela-like sweetness. These coffees are especially appreciated for their juicy acidity, elegant structure, and layered fruit complexity.

Through close collaboration and direct sourcing, we aim to showcase the unique character of Kamavindi’s coffees and the dedication behind every harvest.

We recommend resting our coffees for at least 2 weeks up to 2 months for the best results.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1025/1291/8870/files/WhatsApp_Image_2026-04-25_at_10.51.30_1.jpg?v=1778596976
kenya-thunguri-natural
Kenya Thunguri - Natural

Altitude: 1,500–2,100 metres

Variety : SL-28, SL34,Batian, Ruiru 11

Process : Natural

Raspberry, Apricot, Rhubarb, Strawberry Candy

Natural processed coffees remain extremely rare in Kenya, where the specialty coffee industry has long focused on washed processing to highlight the country’s signature clarity and vibrant acidity. For many years, natural coffees were often linked to lower-grade “Mbuni” lots rather than specialty production. Only recently have a small number of producers and washing stations begun carefully experimenting with high-quality naturals. Today, exceptional Kenyan naturals like Thunguri are still uncommon, offering a unique combination of Kenya’s bright structure with the deeper fruit sweetness and candy-like character of natural processing.

We recommend resting our coffees for at least 2 weeks up to 2 months for the best results.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1025/1291/8870/files/WhatsApp_Image_2026-05-13_at_14.34.23.jpg?v=1779318771
